Miss Lyka was born and raised in the Philippines. As a child, she deeply admired her mother, an extremely talented teacher in her own right. She always knew that she wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps.
Lyka was fortunate to attend a well regarded private school during her high school years which included a strong educational philosophy. This allowed her to embrace her dream of teaching. She continued her education at the University of Northern Philippines, earning her BA in General Education (Elementary Education).
After graduation, Miss Lyka worked as a tutor in Nueva Segovia Tutorial services (another branch of KUMON in the Philippines). She moved to the United States in 2009 and continued taking Early Childhood Education classes at California College and at Mission College.
Miss Lyka is extremely grateful to be able to live and work in the United States. She knows this country has provided her with incredible opportunities that were unavailable in the Philippines to grow and develop in her personal and professional life.
A determined, goal-oriented woman, Lyka believes every day “If others can, why can’t I?!”
Miss Lyka loves going out with her family, exploring the San Francisco Bay Area, and eating different and exotic foods. She is the loving mother of a bright and beautiful little girl.
