Meet Miss Frankie
Miss Frankie Teacher
Miss Frankie’s passion for helping students succeed stems from her early struggles in education.  Her third-grade year was challenging, academically and emotionally.  As she fell behind in reading and developed anxiety within the classroom, Frankie dreaded school and learning.  Her fourth-grade teacher had a profound impact on the way she behaved at school.  “When I read incorrectly, she praised the things I did well.  When I struggled and felt like giving up, she cheered me on and promoted a growth mindset.  She challenged me as an individual, based on my own skills, which made me start feeling confident in my own abilities.” mentioned Frankie.  Miss Frankie confidently and adeptly applies these childhood experiences with the children in her care.

While attending college as a health science student, Frankie was inspired by her general education child development courses.  She was fascinated by children and how their personalities and values were influenced by peers, teachers, school, and community.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Life Science with a preparation for multiple-subject teaching from San Jose State University.  Her emphasis in science education was inspired by the television show “The Magic School Bus”.

Frankie’s involvement with children (ages one to thirteen) ranges from her time as a preschool teacher’s assistant, a summer camp counselor, youth mentor, one-to-one tutor, and nanny.  She is continuing to develop her skills by earning a Master of Science in Child and Adolescent Development (Emphasis in Early Childhood).  When not working, Frankie volunteers within the community, practices yoga, and enjoys live music events throughout San Jose.
